Step 2: Choose Nord VPN from the list of search results

Step 3: You will see a yellow button next to Get, click on it to start the downloading and installation of the Nord VPN app.

Step 4: Once the installation is complete, there is a yellow box next to Open, click it. This will launch the app.

Step 5: At this point, you have to enter your login information (username and password)

Step 6: Now, you can connect by clicking on Connect or choosing a particular server location you would prefer to connect to. Once you connect to a server, a connection will be established instantly.

How to Install Other VPNs on Firestick?

If you want to install a VPN that is not available on the default App Store, I will show you how to go about it. This method may not be easy due to update issues.

Before I start, your Fire TV needs to allow the installation of apps from unknown sources.

Install apps from unknown sources

Step 1: Allow your Fire TV to boot up. Go to Settings and click Device

Step 2: Go to Developers Options

Step 3: Turn on Apps from unknown sources and ADB debugging

Step 4: Return to the System menu and select About

Step 5: Now, choose Network

Now, write out the IP address of your Firestick device and keep it somewhere handy.

Sideloading VPN App on Your Firestick Device

This method is going to work if you have a 2nd Generation Firestick device or newer versions. To make this process work, you will also need a second Android device like a smartphone, tablet or Smart TV.

Check for this model combination LY73PR around your device. If you see the model combination, it means you have a 2nd Generation Firestick device or newer versions.

Step 1: Download Apps2Fire on the second Android device

Step 2: Download and install the VPN of your choice on the same Android device

Step 3: Launch the VPN app. In the top-right corner, you will see the menu icon which is the three dots. Just tap it.

Step 4: Click on Setup

Step 5: Now, locate where you have the IP address of your Fire TV and type the IP address that you wrote down before.

Step 6: Click on Save

Step 7: Select the Menu icon again and click Upload Apps

Step 8: Click the VPN app and upload it to your Fire TV device.

Step 9: The VPN app will be installed automatically.

Finding The VPN App and Connecting It

After you have installed the VPN app on your Fire TV, you will need to log in and connect to it. Unfortunately, in your Firestick device, you won’t see the app in the Apps section. In this section, I will show you how to locate it.

Step 1: Go to your Fire TV starting menu

Step 2: Locate Settings and choose Applications

Step 3: Choose Manage installed applications

Step 4: Locate the VPN you had install

Step 5: You will see a sub-menu and select Launch application

Step 6: Enter the login information of the VPN (You may need a mouse app to do this)

Step 7: After logging in, choose a location and click the Connect button. You are good to go the moment connection is established.
